BECAUSE THE ASSIGNMENT ISN'T JUST SELF-IMPROVEMENT.
BECAUSE THE ASSIGNMENT ISN'T JUST SELF-IMPROVEMENT.
It's all of it.
Be a good mom.
Be a good daughter.
Be a good wife.
Take care of your body—but don't age.
Have a career—but don't neglect your family.
Be independent—but don't be difficult.
Have boundaries—but make sure everyone still likes you.
Take care of yourself—but don't inconvenience anyone while doing it.
Manage your stress.
Heal your shit.
Stay fit.
Stay attractive.
Stay positive.
Find your purpose.
And please do it all with a regulated nervous system. 🙄
It's fucking exhausting.
Oh, and on top of it all, perimenopause just rolled up and now everything feels like it's falling apart.
Now, here's the deal.
I'm not interested in giving you another set of rules.
I'm much more interested in the ones you're already following.
The ones you didn't necessarily choose.
The ones you may not even realize are there.
The ones that make you think you should be able to handle more, want something different, look a certain way, be further along, have your shit together, or become some better version of yourself.
Maybe you don't need to try harder.
Maybe you just need to question some shit.
If you just read that and thought "holy shit, that's me," you're in the right fucking place.
WELCOME TO THE REBEL'S WAY
I like to keep things simple, so here is my world. It's a choose your own adventure. Pick what works for you.
Hi, I'm Starlyn.
Hi, I'm Starlyn.
Former Harley-Davidson mechanic. Health coach. Rebel. Nutrition nerd. Mom. Podcast host. Lover of the F-bomb. Lifelong questioner of why the hell we're doing things this way.
I've spent years interested in women's health, behavior, and change. These days, I'm less interested in finding the “right” way to do life—and much more interested in questioning all the ways we've been told we should.
